François Pilon

District Laval-les-îles

After a career with the City of Laval from 1987 to 2011, where he was, among other things, vice-president of the blue-collar union from 1999 to 2006, François Pilon was the Member of Parliament for the riding of Laval—Les Îles in the House of Commons of Canada from 2011 to 2015.

Born in Laval, he completed training as an architectural draftsman at Cégep Montmorency and studied political science at UQAM. This Laval native at heart has a great interest in preserving the environment. He was a member of the House of Commons Committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development. He also sat on the Public and National Security Committee and the Library of Parliament Committee.

These various professional and political experiences have given him a good understanding of the workings of our democratic and administrative institutions. He is an indisputable asset for broadening the perspective of the Action Laval team on a wide range of Laval issues.
